Medical Clinic - GMZ |
|
The work group Gastrointestinal Molecular Cell Biology of the medical clinic (in-patient and out-patient B) led by Dr. Jürgen Schnekenburger (GMZ-WWU) is a part of the University Hospital Münster, a research intensive hospital for maximum medical care with 7000 employees. The 12 scientific coworkers in the work group form an interdisciplinary team with physicians, biologists, pharmacists and biochemist. They have a broad spectrum of methods for cell biology, experimental tumor research and clinical diagnostics at their disposal. GMZ-WWU focuses on research on the origin of tumors using new nanotechnological methods.
GMZ-WWU is licensed in the project for toxicological studies with the used nanoparticles. For this, the work group will deploy their SOPs text systems. These test systems are adapted and validated for the specific particles of the project. GMZ-WWU will coat particles with different complex biological media and serums for the characterisation of the surface layer of nanoparticles in biological systems. Labeled lipids and recombinant proteins will be manufactured for the detection of specific surface molecules. The impedance measurements on cells as a toxicity assay is developed in cooperation with nanoAnalytics.
